The blades of these comfortable carving knives are
made from our high carbon steel, hardened to Rc62 (if that sounds
familiar it's because that's the same steel and hardness as our
high-carbon knives and plane blades) easy to hone to the sharpest
possible edge.
Handles are bubinga with nothing more than an oil
finish.

Hi Ron, Just over a month ago I began learning
chip carving. I purchased a Pfiel Chip Carving knife and sharpened
it to the recommended 10 degree angle but continued to struggle
with it. Tonight I bought your Chip Carver #CKC100 at my local Woodcraft
store and after spending maybe 30-40 seconds just stropping the
blade I am already cutting chips especially around corners much
better than before. The angle to the blade does take a few minutes
to get used to as the first few triangles I missed going all the
way to the corner on. But with just maybe 5 minutes practice and
that knife is making chips fly. I have found that neither straight
lines nor radically curved areas are a problem any more. Thank you
Ron. By the way your plane blades have made my old Baileys sing
also. -- R.S.
